Welcome to a page designed to support current and former Cal Poly students during the process of applying for supervised practice programs. (Throughout this site the terms supervised practice and dietetic internship will be used interchangeably.
This is a central location for important links, documents, and announcements related to the process.

Important Considerations for Becoming an RD
- A MS degree is required to become a registered dietitian/nutritionist - this MS degree can be in many different topics and doesn't specifically have to be in nutrition

Many programs - dietetic internships, grad schools, and combination MSDI or Graduate Programs may require earlier applications than in previous years, some starting as early as September
- There is no longer a "match" for dietetic internship or combined MSDI or master's with Dietetic Internship programs; it is possible to recieve an acceptance offer from multiple programs.

If a dietetic internship participats in DICAS (a centralized application portal), there is a specific date they must notify their applicants of their acceptance. Please refer to the DICAS webpage for specifics.

If a program (internship or graduate school) does not use DICAS they do not have to abide by specific application notification dates.
